From most recent:

I have found that climbing with the cranks is definitely more efficient. The pedals stroke is much more fluent throughout the stroke. View my testing results here.

I started using 184 mm cranks in June 2011 and have seen an improvement of 1 kmh from 9 to 10 kmh on the edge of the Gorolo (last of the nine hills). This is the result of a significant increase in acceleration and speed in the plains compared to my experience with traditional 170 mm cranks.

I mounted 184mm cranks a few days before the time trial for teams of Viareggio. I experienced a reduction in fatigue. In the days following training in a variety of uphill, I experienced sore legs and resentment at the patellar tendon to which it is returned to the classic 170mm per hour. (This finding defines the limit of short stature rider in 170-172cm, under which the cranks Zenkranks should not be used at a competitive level. An exception to this statement is from D. Veronesi, the current Italian champion mountain bike riding 78cm 167cm in height using the 184mm with no problems).

With 184mm Zencranks I had an enhanced ability on the plains and maintained 150watt 50-11 in the 35km in plains effortlessly, while uphill I did not detect any improvement.

I have many references of my performance using 190mm cranks. I found greater uphill acceleration of +3 kmh from 15 to 18kmh with 175mm to 190mm with 15-21kmh, and found a decrease in fatigue in the wake of the group.
